He is talking about the great 887 statues that were believed to be built by Rapi Nui. The statues were built years ago and to this day endure the heat and cold. 288 of them were transported to their final ahu locations successfully. 397 of them still remain in Ranu Raraku. The Moai have been around for a long time and still surprisingly hold up well in the cold and heat. (This paragraph also seem to be about how they are built)
“The Moai were built approximately 1400- 1650 A.D.” They have been around for a very long time and most of them are still standing today. The Moai are located on Easter Island in South America. The Rapi Nui were a tribe long ago, but they don’t exist anymore. Nobody really knows how the Rapi Nui got the Moai assembled. They didn’t have the resources we have today to set them upright or if they built them upright from the beginning how they got up high enough to build them. The Moai have been a mystery for many centuries and nobody knows a ton about them. (The paragraph is about history)
Though the big-nosed monolithic statues haven’t been discovered thoroughly, what us humans have discovered about them is really amazing. The Moai are 33 feet tall and weigh 86 tons. The Moai are very amazing statues and there is still so much more to find out about
