The last one that was being reviewed caught my eye. She was a License Practical Nurse who struggled with an addiction for numerous years. She was put on probation in June 2015 because she was charged with two counts of assault, driving under the influence, fleeing the scene of an accident, and possession of multiple controlled substances. After almost three years of being clean, she relapsed caused by stress and continuing to feel like she was still dependent on the substance. All she wanted was to be free from the dependence. She sought out help from her doctor to recieve a lower dose which was not given. Therefore, she began research on her own to see if she could eventually stop taking her Suboxone. She relapsed from July to September of this year. She was disciplined at Ashland for the reason that of scheduling differences regarding her daughter’s arrangements. She began working at Golden Living Center in Jefferson City, MO and began taking heroin via IV injection. She claims she got these drugs from an old co-worker and used outside of work. As a result, she was terminated after testing positive for Morphine, even though she claims she was only doing heroin at the time being. She also claims that she has never diverted from any of her employers. After relapsing again, she realized this is a lifelong disease and that she must take Suboxone for the rest of her life. Her family and nursing license is the highest important attribute in her life and will use it as her driving motivation to regaining her license once again. Since being on probation, she has spent her time helping her husband on his personal business, but has dedicated her time working on herself. She states that the way she will stay clean this time is by attending outpatient 2 hours a week, talking to her doctor when needed, and intense outpatient. She says that she has learned it the
