I feel at this time the subject should not be allowed to practice in the nursing field. Ms. Bentz seemed to show more compassion about violating her probation. Ms. Bentz was honest about her alcohol addiction and seemed to be making an effort to change. Unfortunately I still look into the fact that she failed to call in to the line for Missouri 7 times where as she was making them to Kansas. Ms. Bentz was asked why she didn’t call to the state that she was in violation with and she stated that she was getting confused. I agreed with the Board when they made the statement that it seems to them she didn’t prioritize what was important. The thing I find disturbing is that she was placed on probation for a period of 5 years and was in violation less than a year. I understand that she has an addiction problem, but I believe that she should have sought out an extensive treatment before returning to the nursing
