Michael Jackson was known as the „King of Pop” but he was much more than that he was a symbol for both Social Justice and hope for the African American community. Michael Jackson was in 1958 in Gary, Indiana. He was born to a middle-class African American family. During his childhood, he formed a musical group with his siblings called the Jackson 5. The Jackson 5 generated much attention amongst the public by playing several gigs and working with various famous artists. Eventually, the band received recognition from popular music producers like Berry Gordy. In this band, Jackson was known for his energetic performances and his ability to sing with maturity. At the age of thirteen, he launched a solo career with a single album. He received much fame by himself as well. With more releases of single albums, his fame and likeability began rising. Over time, Michael Jackson became an icon of the musical industry. His dance moves and musical style became a staple, and he became a household name. His career, however, began to change slightly after an accident while shooting a commercial for PepsiCo. Jackson faced several burns for which he needed surgery to recover from. During these surgeries, he also received elective plastic surgeries, which not only changed his physical appearance but also his image in the public arena.
