On the other hand, those who experienced discontinuity or lack of support in their lives showed no signs of improvement and bounced in and out of wards constantly. They had suicidal thoughts and some developed addictions as a way to cope with their disability and depression (Lauveng et al. 2015). To me, this evidence proves that here is more to treatment than just medications. We live in an age where it is believed that medicine can fix everything from a headache to depression. The brain is capable of powerful things and I believe that we have more control over our brain than we give ourselves credit. I have a really drastic dream to own my own neurology practice one day that hires psychologists, doctors, pharmacists, therapists, and researchers to create highly personalized medications and treatment plans for each
