Legalization of Marijuana Have you ever wondered if there is a natural medicine that can heal, help, and possibly cure people with irritable and deadly diseases? Well, there is a medicine; it’s an herb that is naturally grown from the Earth. Scientists have made discoveries leading back to 7,000 B.C.E. of this miscellaneous victor and its usage (Norml). The herb is called marijuana also known as pot, cannabis, weed, and God’s medicine in today’s society (Norml). THC is the primary psychoactive ingredient in the cannabis plant that targets receptors in the brain, prevents nausea, vomiting caused by cancer treatments, and it increases the appetite of people with immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) (cancer.gov). CBD is the ingredient with biologic activity that has anti-inflammatory and significant analgesic that helps relieve pain, without the psychoactive effect of THC (cancer.gov). CBD is also considered to show better results than other cannabinoids for diseases such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis spasms, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, nausea, convulsion, inflammation and prevents cancer cell growth (cancer.gov). Cannabidiol (CBD) is extremely effective because studies on animals have shown sedative effects; it increases alertness, and it has also shown to reduce growth of human breast cancer cells (cancer.gov).
