McGee and Schickendanz (2007) believe that the first reading of a book should consist of four components:” book introduction, vocabulary support techniques, analytical comments and questions and after reading “why” question” (McGee & Schickendanz, 2007). These steps to me seem logical and well thought out. I like that McGee and Schickendanz (2007) brings up the point that young children typically are not aware of the problems in a story. According to McGee and Schickendanz (2007) teachers should “craft book introductions to make the problem explicit” (McGee & Schickendanz, 2007). The authors' idea to make the problem explicit is something I have never consciously thought about before reading this article, however, based on McGee and Schickendanz
