The over use McDonaldization in recent decades has led to people becoming less skilled and depending on mass industries to supply for them. Prior to the surge in McDonaldization people carried out the majority of household chores and tasks themselves. For example, in the majority of family homes people cooked for themselves and their families, this gave people a greater understanding of what they were consuming. In more recent times however, the rise in the mass production of ready meals and frozen foods which are generally not overly beneficial nutrition wise has led to more and more people choosing to not cook meals from scratch as this would be far more time consuming and not in keeping with the general principle of McDonalization.
In the movie Lego Movie, everybody was brainwashed and had to follow a certain set of rules but they found nothing wrong with how the world was. As they even sang a song in which they said “Everything is Awesome”. They all lived life on an assembly line and anybody who tried to break from the mould were shunned and looked down upon.
