Mahatma Gandhi was a great man killed before his mission was done. Like many great men he was both loved and hated. He lived his life with meaning and conviction a goal always in his mind. He lived his life with kindness and respect but with the conviction to stand up for what was right. He was a celibate married man which must have sucked for his wife. He tried to change the world and he succeeded. He created a way to fight for what you want without forcing your will on others. He lived a peaceful life that tragically ended with violence. He however left his legacy behind and that is what we all hope to do.
Mahatma Gandhi was born October 2, 1869 in Porbandar to Karamchand and Putlibai Gandhi. His real name is Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, but he was given the name Mahatma which means great souled one in Sanskrit. His father was the chief minister and his mother was deeply religious Hindu. His mother impressed upon him the virtue of self discipline and reliance. So when he was nineteen he went to London and studied law at the Inner Temple. He finished in 1889. Then returned to India to start his own practice. He was unsuccessful for two years. Then he got a job offer at a firm in South Africa so he moved and that when Gandhi became the man we know today.(History)
