Love of Jehovah: 5 Things His love Cannot Do
The love of Jehovah is massive and incomparable to the love of man. You might wonder why this enormous love of God could not proof itself in some situations.
I remembered an old story of a king and his slave. “The king, who did not believe in the goodness of God, had a slave who, in all circumstances, said: “My king, do not be discouraged, because everything God does is perfect, no mistakes!”
One day they went hunting and along the way a wild animal attacked the king. His slave managed to kill the animal, but could not prevent his majesty losing a finger. Furious and without showing his gratitude for being saved, the nobleman said “Is God loving? If He loves me, I would not have been attacked and

Outraged by the response, the king ordered the arrest of his slave.
Later, he left for another hunt and was captured by savages who made human sacrifices. In the altar, ready to sacrifice the nobleman, the savages found that the victim had not one of his fingers, so he was released. According to them, it was not so complete to be offered to the gods.
Upon his return to the palace, he authorized the release of his slave that he received very affectionately. “I really enjoyed the love of Jehovah! I was almost killed by the wild men, but for lack of a single finger, I was let go! But I have a question: if God loves, why did He allow me to put you in jail?”
The slave replied: “My king, if I had gun with you in this hunt, I would have been sacrificed for you, because I have no missing finger. Thus, the love of God is always established in every situation.”
The love of Jehovah is not slack. Some preachers made us to believe that the love of God must allow ‘everything’ we choose to do. But, a lot of people got disappointed that God could not satisfy all their (self) wishes, so they left the church to become an

Surely they will turn away your hearts after their gods.” Solomon clung to these in love. And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines…that his wives turned his heart after other gods; and his heart was not loyal to the LORD his God…So the LORD became angry with Solomon…”(1King11:1-25)
5. Love of Jehovah Cannot Befriend the Hypocrite
Hypocrites are people who pretend to serve the Lord, good in church activities, but, their lifestyles are not Christ-like. The love of Jehovah in your life does not give you the liberty to love the ‘things’ of this world.
Jesus understood this fact, and that was the essence of His reply to the devil when He was tempted. Matthew chapter 4 verses 8 to 10 says: “Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”
Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall

The reoccurring theme that can be seem in almost off the reading throughout the course is that of religion and its importance to people. People from different cultural backgrounds and circumstances used religion to survive harsh conditions, cope with changes around them, and even justify their actions. Although religion became the way many people during the time period lived their life, it was also a barrier because of the different ways people interpreted the religion. Each community shared their own beliefs and defended themselves with their own religious practices. Religion for many years has been a force that has continued to bring people together but also caused groups of people who share the same beliefs to branch out and create their…

Thomas Jefferson (the first US Secretary of State, its second Vice President, and third President) and John Adams (the first US Vice President and its second President) are two of the most influential authors on the Declaration of Independence. But their religious views differ greatly. Jefferson believes Jesus ‘perhaps the greatest of history’s moral teachers’ but he doesn’t subscribe to the religiously fundamental view. Or as Schama puts it, Jefferson doesn’t believe Jesus to be a ‘water-walking, corpse-resuscitator’. He believes the new state of America should be guided by the morality of Christianity, but not be regulated by its religion.…

Jealousy comes when one's focus is taken off God and put upon the world. Hebrews 13:4 states “but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” God's Word also states in I Corinthians 3:17 “if any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy.” The purity of mankind should be maintained, therefore the jealous husband was to bring her before the priest who would carry out all the law. Devils love the destruction of relations between a man and his wife.…

Acts 5:3 “But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?” The Holy Spirit must have revealed to Peter that Ananias was lying, therefore he asked him why he lied. I have heard it said that Ananias would not have been asked this question if he was a lost sinner, as Peter would have known that it is the way of the ungodly to not tell the truth. I find it at least reasonable to believe he was saved but Satan filled his heart to lie.…

The character Jehovah eclipses that of the corrupted, manmade greek gods in every way. The greek gods show over and over large flaws and that they cannot be trusted, unlike Jehovah who has no flaws and is very trustworthy. Firstly, the greek gods are very unforgiving seen when Athena and Hera curse Paris because he chose Aphrodite as the most beautiful instead of them (Hamby Judgement). This shows that the greek gods are unforgiving because they will become angry and violent when things do not go their way. However, unlike the greek gods, Jehovah is very forgiving as spoken of in Colossians 3:13 where it states that the Lord has forgiven.…

The freedom of belief and religion for Jehovah’s Witnesses is not being enforced in certain countries. Many Witnesses are thrown in jail, killed, and persecuted for their religious beliefs in different countries. The right to freedom of belief and religion applies to everyone from every religion so it is not fair to deprive Witnesses from that right. There is still a chance to save many innocent Witnesses lives and stop them from being killed. It is a violation of the human rights to put someone to death without a fair trial by jury.…

After I had read, “The New England Primer” excerpt, "An Alphabet of Lessons for Children" it really illustrated the true connection of how important religion, and education was to the colonists. The way that they taught the alphabet back then shocked me. It really made me realize what a difference a couple hundred years can make when it comes to the ways that people lived, and the way that they taught. The way that we receive an education today is much, much different. We not only have freedom of speech, but we are able to practice whatever religion we want to.…

Passages in the Bible has accepted and affirmed the regulation of slavery, ranging from first Peter 2:18, “Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust” to Colossians 3:22, “Slaves, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eyeservice, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord”. However, slave owners were highly selective on what scriptures were applicable to their circumstances. In the Autobiography of Frederick Douglass, the author tends to criticize in tangents on the dissimulation of slave owner rhetoric that revered Biblical texts, yet perpetuate the obscenities in slavery from physical abuse to severe punishments with the inclusion of certain characters such as Thomas Auld, whom cruelty exacerbated after Methodist camp training, and the infamous antagonist Edward Covey. Specifically, in Chapter 10, Douglass reprimanded his overseer at the time, Edward Covey, “I do verily believe that he sometimes deceived himself into the solemn belief, that he was a sincere worshipper of the most high God”. Covey garnered the notorious reputation of breaking young negroes, harshly whipping for surface reasons (e.g. discomfiture), while praying instantly in the morning and taking time to construct a well-thought…

“ What to say to a man who tells you he prefers to obey God than to obey men, and who is consequently sure of entering the gates of Heaven by slitting your throat?” Dr Richard Reilly Wrote an essay published in Philosophy Now, in which he discusses how he approaches the topic of “Questioning God” with his students. Reilly begins with the above quote from Voltaire—not in the published version, only in the copy given to his students—where he captures his main idea in one simple statement. If a man is truly loyal to his idea of God, then a man standing in his way will perish by his “holy” hands. Throughout history humans have made it clear that, because we are social creatures that live in relation to one and other, Religion will always be a…

John is different than all the other Gospels and is not considered a synoptic Gospel because it does not contain the birth of Jesus.…
