In “To Kill a Mockingbird”, Jean Louise Finch, the eight year old who’s point of view is told from in the book also known as Scout, has a father who is a lawyer and her older brother. Her father’s name is Atticus and her older brother is Jem, and they lived in Maycomb, Alabama during 1930. Jem was old enough to remember his mom before she died but Scout can’t remember her. Scout is known to be a tomboy, she has no problem going out and doing anything that her big brother is doing. She is also known for standing up for what she thinks is right. She is not afraid to throw punches to defend herself or her family. There are 3 problems that Scout 1) Atticus’s case, 2) the first day of school 3) Jem is pushed over the edge
Scout faces a different problem but a more serious problem later in her life. It was the summer of her 2nd grade year. Her dad is assigned a case by the court of Maycomb and, his case is to protect a black man who was accused of raping a white girl. This case brought a lot of change to the Finch household. For instance, their Aunt Alexander, Atticus’ sister, came and stayed with them so that she could help Calpurnia, the Finch’s house servant, look after the kids while Atticus was still at his office late at night. Aunt Alexandrea also came with her own mission, to help Scout learn better manners and to be more lady like. While the case was being prepared for, people had found out what Atticus was doing. Now, the people in Maycomb did not like Atticus Finch…
