These include; 2014 50 most influential women in South Australia, Australia’s top 100 inspiring women, human rights activist, multicultural human rights honor roll, director of West Africa young women’s association, YWCA nominee for the Mary Robinson award for young women’s leadership in human rights, and amongst many others. Gabla is also known as an educator who addresses meeting filled with health professionals such as doctors, police officers, nurses, and social workers. She also took part in being a peer educator and educated her peers about health issues such as their sexual health, hygiene, contraception and relationships. In addition, she organizes and plan weekly and monthly sessions for young girls concentrating on sexual health issues so that they would make ideal choices with their body’s. She also participated in many radio interviews to talk about the many works that she has implemented to help young girls within her community and around the world. After her struggle to find the courage to speak out about being a victim of FGM, Gbla became very passionate with what she was doing and what she has done. Her passion propelled her to continued working and gathering others to join her in her fight to end FGM, sexism, and inequalities that women are facing.
