The book Of Mice And Men was written by John Steinbeck in Allendale California, this is about 2 men who travel together and struggle along the way. In this novel most of the characters have differences that they deal with everyday. Some of these characters are Lennie, Curley, Crook, and Candy, their impairments are Lennie forgets most of the time, Candy can not perform that much because of his hand, Curley happens to be pugnacious, and Crook continues to be treated poorly because he is black. One of the multiple characters with an impairment in the book is Crooks. The impairment Crooks has is he is black and has a crooked back. “ Cause I’m black they play cards in there, but I can’t play because I’m black they say I stink well I tell you, all of you stink to me” (Steinbeck 68). It ties to the topic sentences by showing his impairment that he will always be black. Another example of when this impairment can be found in chapter 4 when Curley’s wife tells Crooks he knows what she can do to him. The quote ties to the topic sentence because Crook’s impairment is he is black and he has trouble with that.
