Andrews had a long connection with both the church and James and ellen white. He first came in contact with Mr. White in October 1849, when he wrote a letter to the editor of The present truth paper, James White. Angeline Andrews died in 1872, two years later he took his two children and traveled to switzerland as the first Adventist sponsored missionaries. He began there organizing the already Adventist believers as on official church.helping unregistered pastors learn to lead the churches and communicate with each other. He then wrote tracts and paid for the publication of a paper, he also had the signs of the times translated into french. In 1876 the General conference voted to give $10,000 to the building of a publication house in Europe.
Andrews had a long relationship with Ellen white, While the two disagreed on some fronts when Andrews left for ministry White wrote saying “We have sent the most abled of our ranks.” And andrews regarded her the same.
In 1879 Mary Andrews got very sick, her father rushed her back to America where she could be treated at the Battle Creek hospital while he attended the general conference meeting. ON November 27, 1878 Mary Andrews died leaving her father alone with her
