Jeffrey Dahmer Research Paper

This man is the type of man that your children have nightmares about, that parents themselves try to protect their children from. The difference here though, is the fact that this man not only got children, but adults too. Oh, and girls- not to worry. Jeffrey Dahmer only wanted boys/ men, also age preference wasn’t really there either, his victims ranging from about 13-36 years of age. So, what exactly did Jeffrey Dahmer do? Well, he did a lot, he did a lot of disgusting things. Some topped others, but we will get into that a little later. Right now we shall start things off a little slowly by getting to know him a little more and what possibly could have played a part in his life- his younger life, that had caused him to take the path that …show more content…
Sure he had been convicted a couple times in his past with charges or public exploitation, and yeah, a couple kids claim he had exposed himself in front of them, but he gave nobody a reason to believe him a killer. Well, killing was his skill. So how did he get caught? Tracy Edwards escaped from Dahmer and was found wandering the streets with handcuffs on him, nearby cops spotted him and asked him what happened, Tracy claimed he was drugged him and captured by a man and led the cops to Dahmer’s apartment. When Dahmer opened the door and offered to get the key to release Tracy, the cops noticed multiple polaroids of what appear to be body parts and when Jeffrey returned he was arrested. Later Dahmer’s apartment was searched and there human remains and explicit pictures were found. Jeffrey, knowing he couldn’t get himself out of this, confessed to the murders of 17 innocent boys/men. The judges were simply stunned to hear what this well-mannered man had done, while the family members of those who were killed stood there in hysteric. Jeffree pleaded guilty to the judge, but also pleaded mentally insane to try to reduce his sentence. However, the judge was well and aware that there was no mental illness that had taken part. Dahmer was sentenced to 15 life terms in prison. While in prison, he was to be kept away for the most part from other inmates, but talked the guards into letting him speak to them. Also while in prison Jeffrey claimed to learn religion and convinced the prison people to let him be baptized. Everything was kind of normal for Jeffrey in prison, he had it okay. Until he was seriously injured by a fellow inmate on November 28, 1994 and died. He was struck with a metal pole along with another inmate. Christopher Scarver was Jeffrey’s killer and claims he did it because he was bothered

It became evident that he took a fancy to African-American males, meeting them at gay bars or the mall, Dahmer would entice them with either alcohol or the promise of money if they agreed to pose for photographs (Montaldo, 2016). Once he had his victim alone, Dahmer would drug them, occasionally torture them, and strangle them to death (Montaldo, 2016). He would then masturbate over their corpse and/or perform his necrophilia fantasies, followed by the dismemberment of the body and the disposal of the remains (Montaldo, 2016). It was often seen that Dahmer would keep parts of the body, such as the skull or other bones, much like he did with the road kill collection in his earlier years, as well as refrigerate their organs which he would occasionally consume (Montaldo,…

In high school, Dahmer utilized drugs and alcohol to mask destructive behaviors, and would sometimes arrive in class under the influence (Purcell & Arrigo, 2006). Though sometimes considered the class clown, Dahmer was unable to form any lasting relationships. From a psychological perspective, Dahmer’s background was troubling, but that did not necessarily mean that Dahmer would become a serial killer. Many children are the product of sexual abuse, experience marital discord, lack of attention by parents, and even demonstrates antisocial personality disorder without also becoming murderers. Some believe that Dahmer’s first victim, Steven Hicks, who he murdered then dismembered in 1978, might have been a sexual encounter gone wrong (Purcell & Arrigo, 2006).…
