Jacksonian Democrats viewed themselves as the guardians of the United States Constitution, political democracy, individual liberty, and equality of economic opportunity. To some extent, I agree that the Jacksonians were the guardians. Jackson went against nullification because it was unconstitutional and enforced the spoils system to allow common people to have public jobs. During the Jacksonian Era, universal male suffrage occurred and more economic opportunity for the common people. However, Jackson also vetoed the recharter of the Bank even though the Bank was actually constitutional and this led to the Panic of 1837.…

The antecedent for the swearing behaviors are frustration, misunderstanding, and inability to successfully complete a task. Joey engages in this behavior across different environments, when in the presence of familiar and unfamiliar people, and on occasion in alone conditions when he is unaware that he is being observed. A DRA procedure, as stated by Cooper et al (2007), is used as a method for decreasing an unwanted behavior by reinforcing a desirable replacement behavior for the problem behavior and placing the targeted behavior on…

Phil Jackson is one of the most celebrated basketball coaches of all time. A former NBA player turned coach; Jackson epitomizes a lifelong search for excellence in him as well as in those he leads. In Jackson and Delehanty’s (2014) Eleven Rings: The soul of success, one finds and offering of anecdotes that chronicle Jackson’s career as well as insights into his coaching and leadership philosophy. As I considered these leadership lessons, there are three that struck a chord with my own sense of leadership These include, “Lead from the inside out” (p.11), “Let each player discover his own destiny” (p.13), and “Keep your eye on the spirit, and not the scoreboard” (p.20). The first lesson, “lead from the inside out” (Jackson & Delehanty, 2014, p.11), in many ways resembles Parker Palmers’ (2004) notion of the Mobius Strip.…

Behavioral beliefs: Most nights, Jacoby gets drunk, has unprotected sex with random people and does ecstasy. This shows that he does not care about his lifestyle. When both Arnold and Anne confront Jacoby about the pills, which they found in his room, he quickly disregards them as nothing serious. I would definitely say that when Jacoby brushes the pill question off, it shows that he believes what he is doing is right as long as he is not hurting anyone. Evaluation of behavioral outcomes: Jacoby does not go to college and engages in promiscuous behavior such as having stayed out all night and getting drunk most of the night.…

ANALYSIS METHODOLOGY Population and Setting Characteristics Although a substantial proportion of functional analysis studies (37.2%) included adults, the majority of studies included children (70.0%) with some form of developmental disability (91.3%; see Table 2). Given the high prevalence of problem behavior in persons with developmental disabilities, the fact that the majority of functional analysis studies have focused on this population is not surprising. A much lower percentage of studies included functional analyses of problem behaviors exhibited by persons without disabilities (9.0%), showing that this is a relatively underresearched area.…

The pair of idioms open/shut one's mouth are expressed by the metonym TO SPEAK IS TO USE ONE'S MOUTH (TONGUE, LIPS) and it points out the mouth as the active speech organs (29).
