DBQ- EXPANSION OF ISLAM The islamic civilization grew at an extremely fast rate . This growth was due to the special ideas, and practises That they did. Islam used these practises and ideas to their advantages and started to have people latch on to their empire. The islamic civilization expanded through trade, warfare, and religious beliefs. These are some of the main reasons why they grew so big so fast. Trade in islam was very strong and this helped boost the economy. Allot of people part of the islamic civilization were merchants. Merchants would go out and sell their goods between other people or other civilizations. The development of a billing system was made and people instead of trading were also now buying. This had a big Impact on their growth because as they got richer the more power they have. This was a big push to becoming a big civilization …show more content…
“Everything gave way to their swords” (document 4). This quote just shows how easy it was for islam to conquer. When a group of people have a strong army they can now start to take over land ,An important part of having a large and powerful civilization is to have allot of land. When they started to take over land they started to adapt the people of that land to islam. Not only were they growing territory but also followers. As mohamed said to the leader of a christian arab tribe “ if ye oppose and displease them, i will fight against you and take captive your little ones and slay the elder” (document 1) because he has a strong army he can do that, the tribe leaders had no other choice but to accept islam, resulting in a further spread of islam. “Between 632 and 750 islam expanded their borders and had a huge empire” (document 8).
