According to ESPN statistics from 2010 to 2012 the number of Pop Warner youth football players decreased from 248,899 players to only 225,287. This number is incredibly startling is the largest drop of any youth sport over the past decade. The biggest concern of a large majority of these parents, that will not let their children play football, is the lack of safety. Injuries in youth football have risen, which makes parents concerned about the health and well being of their children. However, if football became safer for the players I believe it could be resurrected. The National Football League can make football more safe by continuing to work to generate greatly effective and successful football equipment, develop ways to track each player 's personal vitals and help educate coaches in ways to teach better form and safer practices. A little effort could help revive a sport that has been respected as a great tradition in our country for over a 100 years.

Lately, when it comes to football one of the worst words to come to mind is concussion. Despite a slight rise in concussions during the NFL’s 2015 season, the total number of concussion from the 2012 season compared to the 2013 and 2014 seasons had dropped nearly 25%. This was due to the advancement in both helmet and shoulder pad equipment.
