Lang. In this interview which is among the claim of concussions being part of the game in the NFL and was shared by Fox Sports but the interview was done by Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. The interview covered the concussion issue with a starting offensive lineman by the name of T.J. Lang who has suffered many concussions but believes that these injuries and blows to the head that happen game in and game out all season every season in the NFL are all part of the game. This is stated in his interview where he says “I've never had something where I've had memory loss like that, but it's something that it's, to me it's part of the game. It is a scary thing, but everybody in this league knows the risk that they have by going out there and playing this game” ( Birkett 1). Like what was said in the interview above with Marc Bulger, everyone in the league knows the risk of stepping on the field and playing the game but it's something they do willingly and it is never forced upon them to play early following a concussion. While the assessments are getting much more clear on concussions, the NFL and medical assistants that are hired by the teams know the precautions to make with the players and do not force them to enter back to soon. But no matter what they are doing the concussion problem will not go away. But these rule changes are taking away from the game of football and are changing the way it is played severely. A writer who has a complete opposite viewpoint on the situation is shown in the article American Football is too dangerous, and it should be abolished written by Dave Bry, and published in the guardian. He states that “Efforts to make it safer with better equipment will not work, because the damage happens inside the players’ skulls, when the brain sloshes around and smashes against its bone casing. It’s the speed and power with which players ram their helmeted heads into other players that’s the problem. The game as it is played today kills the people who play it, period” ( Bry 1). Bry is arguing that with the way the game is played currently it is severely hurting the players brains and killing the people who play it. He is saying that even though the players know the risk of stepping on the field and taking the risk it is still killing them and they need to take away the game
