With every century education undergoes dramatic transformations that change and expand how cultures of people respond to learning. Just two hundred years ago education was something that only a select few received. Education was not seen as a necessary part of life because people were able to survive without it. Children would often grow up only completing a middle school education because work was more important than school. Now, in present day, survival is very much dependent on the education that a person receives. Without a minimum of a high school education, people are not able to get jobs that will provide enough money to pay for the high cost of living that exists today. Attending college is also becoming increasingly common among high school graduates because with a high education they will be able to get better jobs. It is obvious that education is a significant part of the society that exists today, not only in the United States, but in other countries as well. This significance shows that students need to be receiving a very intentional education, and not a mediocre one that leaves more to be desired. Over the past couple of decades many people have devoted all their time and efforts into making sure that students across the U.S. are getting an education that will make them the most successful that they can be in life.
