Prior to the telegraph, communication in the 1830s was about the same as it had been in the years just after Gutenberg's invention of the printing press (Elen Universeity, n.d.). It used to take days, weeks, and even months for messages to be sent from one location to a far-flung position. After the invention of telegraph, messages can be sent and received in just minutes. News and important details from all around the world were received on time which was very important in the 1800s. During the war, telegraph allowed to communicate with officers, do important meetings, give orders, monitor battlefield reports without wasting time.
To conclude, the nineteenth century brought many useful inventions which made every-day life easier, improved how work was done in the factories, made transportation and communication system less time consuming. These inventions gave jobs to many and allowed business owners to make profit as well. The use of steam engine and telegraph in transportation and communications allowed to transfer and communicate faster and more further than ever
