In the past thirty years computer technology has been developing very rapidly. Internet in last decade has revolutionized the way how we conduct our lives and businesses. Internet has become a daily necessity we cannot live without. Development of Internet and wireless technologies together with advancement in miniature technology has made it possible for us to have access the internet on the go. Every year we expect new and more advance models of smart phones, or new more sophisticated window systems, or new and more reliable internet security program in hope that this time advancements in technologies not only help to improve our life, but help to protect our privacy while using the

In many instances “the privacy problem is really one of our own making”( 91) writes Jack Shafer in his essay “The Invasion of the Cookie Monster”. We freely provide all of the information by replying on our emails, by completing profiles and sharing our thoughts on social networking sites, by using smart phones for various tasks. All this daily fun activities providing loads of free private personal information to be used and sold to corporations of interests for tracking and advertisement. Until we learn what is the important information that we need to keep private, companies will take advantage of all the information we provide to them freely. Violation of the internet privacy will increase because it is legal for corporations to install tracking cookies on our computers and collect our personal information, track our preferences and use it for sales and advertisements. Like many of us I use internet daily for news, search for recipes or search other information I am looking for. I do ninety percent of my shopping on internet, so I use extensive search on what to buy. I do my banking online: pay my bills, make a check deposit and money transfer. I just went through traffic school online: completed and clear my traffic ticket. I use my smart phone for the same purposes plus navigation and communication.
