Muslim Achievements Since humans began to roam the world, they have made improvements. Muslims have immensely impacted our modern day society due to the useful inventions they have created. Current civilizations heavily depend on these achievements. For example, we still use medicine, art techniques, and ideas in science. Three important contributions in which Muslims have invented that still influence our world today are health care, art, and science. Have you ever wondered where our medical practices originated? Muslims strived in the health field. They were the first to establish an ambulance, according to a textbook known as ‘History Alive’ in chapter ten, where it states, “There were even hospital caravans that brought medical care to people in remote villages.” This was a grandiose accomplishment because Muslims were the first to create such a beneficial invention. Muslims also produced an encyclopedia that provided descriptions of a medicine’s effect, numbed patients before surgery, and far more. Artists around the world are able to communicate through an image, by expressing their emotions, and setting a perspective. In Muslim teachings, people believed that only the God, Allah could create something that is alive. Therefore, Muslim artists were prohibited to draw humans or animals and worked their way around this guideline through the art of dazzling handwriting, known as calligraphy.
