Human Service Profession: A Case Study

To enter the human service profession, interpersonal skills are needed to advance successfully. There are five skills that are required to have when being in this field. Clear and thoughtful speech is necessary to combat the confusion that develops with clients. Always, listen to the needs and concerns of the client. This helps the professional form a good assessment of what the client needs to improve. Social awareness when communicating with a client stems from the consideration that each client is different in his or her own way. One client may need to be treated in a separate way that another client would be treated. Negotiating what is best for the client must always end on their terms, yet they should be given the professional’s opinion.
