The Mongols had one of the most dominant militaries during their empire. The Mongols were trained in riding and hunting as soon as they could hold a bow (History, 2014). The Mongols were trained while they were still adolescents and would continue their training through their life. The Mongols had free trade, because the Mongols had conquered so much land, merchants could move freely through the area without having to worry about raids (Business Insider, 2017). This allowed more people to help the Mongol empire grow because they could get supplies from anywhere without other civilizations attacking the traders bringing goods. The Mongol empire practiced religious tolerance, this included most well known religions such as Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, and Confucianism (Business Insider, 2017). This allowed the conquered people to practice their own religion and be more relaxed in the empire. The Khan’s understood the value of people who knew astronomy, medicine, engineering, and mathematics and spared their lives (Business Insider, 2017). Genghis Khan knew that to help his empire it would be a good idea to have smart people around to advise him on decisions for the Mongol empire. The Mongol empire was great because many different people who worshipped different things lived in the empire and they could obtain exotic things through
