Final Essay
One of the greatest philosophers who changed Greek philosophy was Socrates (93). He is one of the most important figures in Greek history (93). Socrates life and his ways of teaching inspired not only the Greeks but also it inspired how philosophers think now and days (93). Socrates was born in 469 BCE he was the son of a sculptor and a midwife (93). Socrates had said he kind of followed in his mother’s profession he was a midwife to new ideas he helped give birth to new ideas (93). The culture in which Socrates grew up in was a culture when a lot of new ideas and new designs such as the Athena Nike temple was built (93). Socrates was first interested in natural science, but then he changed his interest to human behavior and morality.
Unlike other philosophers Socrates wasn’t asking people he was trying to teach for money (93). Socrates instead of forming a school so he cant teach people went around Athens to different places some public and some …show more content…
Socrates was trying to teach this young people about establishing morality (93). The enemies he made didn’t want this younger generation to think for themselves they wanted the younger generation to follow in their footsteps (93). Socrates exposed how ignorant his enemies really were mainly because he didn’t respect the pride and dignity of people (93). Even though he had many enemies he also had mainly supporters his supporters had taken part in a political that was unpopular the group took place in Athens immediately after the Peloponnesian War (93). The group was called the Thirty Tyrants and it only lasted from 404 till 403 BCE, it ended because either because one of its leading figures either died (93). Socrates enemies knew that him and his supporters had collaborated with the Thirty Tyrants and so they put Socrates on trail in 399 BCE
