How Did Fahrenheit 451 Change

Fahrenheit 451 In the book written by Ray Bradbury, Montag the main character changes as the story goes on, and has different beliefs. In the beginning of the book Montag was a proud fireman who burned books. Montag starts changing when he meets his new neighbor Clarisse McClellan, and she begins asking questions, and he starts thinking about these questions. At the end of the story he had different beliefs, which were led up by his actions. Montag exploreres the forbidden world of books so that he can answer all these questions he has had. He also meets an intellectual named Faber who attempts to guide him into understanding. As Montag encounters Clarisse, Faber, and the books he begins to change dramatically. When the book first started out the main character was a proud fireman who started fires. Montag the main character did his job and did not question why they were starting fires and burning books. The reason why they were burning books is that the government thought that books were seductive and didn’t want people having ideas. One of the ways she did this is by asking him simple questions that would require answers that he chose to think about so he could give her a genuine response. Another reason is when Clarisse asks him if he is in love and does a test. The test was when you rub a dandelion on your chin if it leaves a mark you are in love if it doesn’t you are not. When it didn't leave a mark on Montag he started thinking if he was in love and how his marriage is lacking. As Montag walks in his house, he is thinking about what Clarisse had said about ever reading a book before. As he is thinking , he looks over at an air vent where he has books stashed that he does not read, but quickly looks away because he does not want to think about
