Since the books are illegal in this futuristic world he’s breaking the law by hiding them. “ … Then he reached up and pulled back the grille of the air-conditioning system and reached far back inside to the right and moved still another sliding sheet of metal and took out a book. Without looking at it he dropped it to the floor… He kept moving his hands and dropping books, small ones,fairly large ones, yellow, red, green ones. When he was done he looked down upon some twenty books lying at his wife’s feet”(Bradbury 69). He went from burning all the books to reading them. But he didn’t just stop after reading them he wanted to have more of an impact. He had this impact when he ran away at the end of the book. By running away he could get away from the mindless society to find people that are more intelligent and mindful.
In conclusion, Montag has by far had the biggest change in Fahrenheit 451. The three main things that helped him to this change are meeting Clarisse, burning the old lady’s books, and breaking the rules. Montag’s changes were impacted by the other people in the story.
