The Holocaust was a terrifying period for the Jews living in Europe. Between 1933-1945, “up to 6 million jews were killed” in concentration camps and gas chambers. (ushmm.org) The persecution of them as a religious group are well documented in history. However, many Jews survived and had stories to tell about their experiences. In the following stories of personal survival, the atrocities they suffered, the abuses survived, and the lives rebuilt all serve to teach remembrance and hope in the future.
