Love canal is located in New York right by Niagara Falls. During the 1970’s many different types of chemicals were duped in the canal. It was because of these chemicals that many different birth defects and complications were taking place in the surrounding community. Because of this there was a very large push for the government to clean up the canal. It took them 21 years and $400 million to clean up the love canal. They accomplished this amazing feat by hiring a federal agency.
Because of this extensive clean up the government has declared it safe to live there again. When the government gave the ok to live there again it only took a couple of years for people to come back to the community. Because of the demand for homes there
