The four studies I analyzed all demonstrated significant findings. Zaniker and Kastrin (2011) looked at both posture and balance in their systematic review and found Hippotherapy improved both. Further to this Dubuse, Gibb & Chandler (2009) found that Hippotherapy did improve posture and balance. With this study I was interested to find that Hippotherapy also improved impairment, activity and participation levels in line with the ICF. A study by Dewar, Love and Johnston (2014) took a broad approach reviewing 13 different interventions for postural control. This comparison allowed me to consider the benefits of other interventions for children with Cerebral Palsy. When considering the novice and expert, I can relate this to how the role change from occupational student to therapist will impact on my confidence levels as I am considered a novice. Within education I am comfortable with gaining knowledge through literature, my new role will require me to gain knowledge through practice experience. Although apprehensive this is still an exciting prospect for the near future. Further to this when I considered perspective on health I reflected on my own health experiences. I relate well to the social model of health and feel strongly about the inclusion of all individuals. It has been my personal experiences with the health system that has lead me to study occupational therapy. It is through my education that I have gained the knowledge to help make the health system a better
