Did you know that Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets combined made over two billion worldwide at the box office? The purpose of my speech today is to tell you about these two movies. Since I have read the books, did extensive research, and watched both of these movies many times, I consider myself a credible source. Right now, I want to tell you about the Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets plot, main characters I think you should know about, and a brief background of the author who produced and wrote these movies. First, the plot of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. According to the Journal of Adolescent, “At age eleven, Harry Potter learns he is not a muggle and begins his training in the “art” of wizardry.” This is only a brief overview of the plot, but we can easily expand this to a more in-depth understanding. Voldemort, the antagonist, goes out and kills Mr. and Ms. Potter but was unsuccessful in killing Harry. For some unexplained reason Voldemort dies, which brings peace to the wizard world. Harry is brought to his aunt and uncle: Petunia and Vernon Dursley. When Harry turns eleven he finds out he is a wizard and has been invented to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger become close friends with Harry, but not all is well. While he was in the forest, a centaur tells him that Voldemort is back and is trying to steal the…
