What is happiness? How can one find happiness? Is it having a large amount of friends or having a few loyal ones? The definition of happiness is the state of being happy, showing pleasure or contentment. Many go through life searching for this pure happiness, but there are a lucky few that really find it. Some believe you can buy happiness, but if that is the case, why are some who have little to nothing so happy? Although some believe happiness comes from having a plethora of things, it is actually much more than that. Happiness is loving. It is having your friends and family there for you everyday. Happiness is waking up in the morning and seeing your mom in the same spot everyday drinking her coffee. It is being able to share about your day to any of your family members, and they will do the same in return. Family is a wonderful thing. Yes, they drive you crazy at times, and sometimes they do not listen to each other, but once you get past the difficulties, it can bring you so much joy and appreciation. It is not buying expensive things for yourself or others and thinking that will bring genuine happiness. Happiness is not being selfish. It is not just thinking about yourself. It is always keeping others in your best interest. Think about it. Is it not a glorious feeling when someone goes out of their way to brighten your day? If you enjoy that feeling, why not try to do the same to others? Happiness is not pleasing everyone. Not everyone will like you. Do not waste your time on people who are not worth it. Do not. You will find yourself even more miserable than you were in the first place. The feeling that you are not on common ground with someone can give you an uneasy feeling in your stomach, but is it worth it? Why waste your time worrying over people who do not worry about you for one second? There is a fine line between making others happy and trying too hard to please
