On that day, I was a volunteer to help with the runners after they finish running the marathon. And I was standing a block away from the finish line waiting for the next runner to come in. While I was waiting, a huge explosion sound burst out into the atmosphere; I could not recognized what had just happened at first. All I saw was people running around screaming meanwhile trying to call on their cellphones. According to Davis, the human mind is an illusion generator, and that from time to time we are going to see or hear things that are simply not there (Davis, 2009 p.27). However, this is not the case for all circumstances. In the case of the Boston Marathon bombing, my mind did produced false positive images that ran though in my brain. Even though there were only two bomb that were there and went off, my mind showed me that there were more inside the hotels. My brain was trying to make sense of what was registered through my sensory organs. According to the book Caveman Logic, our mind may simply accept any form of delivery of important event, in both positive and negative ways (Davis, 2009, p.55).
