This is because Clement Beasley makes Laura Lee look like a horrible person, when she was just defending Celestine things when he was trying to claim. In the story she is physically described as a non-fat strong black woman. She has a southern African American southern accent. Throughout the beginning of the story Laura Lee doesn’t want to testify and when she ultimately agrees to she takes her starts to not only tell the jury what happened the day she beat up Clement Beasley, she also started to talk about her whole life. In the story it states how Laura feels about her charges and what she thinks about them. She seems to be mesmerized with how many things she was being charged with. Laura Lee’s interactions with other characters is different depending on which character she’s interacting with. For example, when she was with Clement she was sweet at first but then she fought with him and almost killed him. Then her interactions with Celestine is very loving, and motherly, while with the judge and jury she’s like a child, in the way that she says everything the way it is she doesn’t hold anything back. Laura Lee is a static character because she doesn’t change the way she is throughout the story. However, she is a round character because she’s not the stereotypical type of person. She has so much to her character, she is inflicted with her-self over caring for everyone else but her-self, and she has desires like taking care of
