Summary Response Is milk one of the most important things in human life? Most of people would say yes, due to the experience that they were forced to drink milk by their parents in their childhood. And even the government has encouraged people to drink milk every day, includes adults. Actually, milk may not be as important as what people thought for adults’ health; but it is more helpful and important for children. In Carroll’s article, “Got Milk? Might Not Be Doing You Much Good”, he indicates that milk does not do much good for adults, and may even cause some negative effect instead (2014). He claims that adults have already gained enough vitamin D, calcium and nutrients from their daily meal. Thus, they do not necessarily need to drink …show more content…
Most of parents think that milk is one of the most important tonics that their children must consume every day. A lot of children have the experience that they are forced to drink milk by parents. According to the statistic from Nicklaus Children's Hospital, “9 out of 10 teenage girls and 7 out of 10 teenage boys do not get enough calcium in their diet” (Romano, n.d.). Calcium is the one of the most important elements for the bones mass. That illustrates that most of the children (between ages 9-18) do need some additional calcium from ways other than their original diet. It is obvious that most many parents choose milk as the best choice. Because people will their maximum bones density during adolescence, so it is so important for children to get enough calcium. And that is why some parents encourage and even force their kids to drink milk. However, milk is important for a kid does mean that it is indispensable. Children can also get additional calcium from other things like juice, yogurt, and American cheese. And adults almost do not need any extra calcium anymore. Thus, milk is definitely doing more goods for children than adults, but it is not as important as people used think and it can still be replaced by other
