Reminiscence, though as if yesterday, saying goodbye to my dearest grandmother leaving to the United States when I reflected unambiguously that this was the end of a Belizean. Good morning students and teacher. Honored by the invitation, nonetheless, appalled by the present theme of migration with the emphasis on the rationalization. According to the Oxford dictionary, the ideology is dubbed as the process of moving from one country, place, or locality to another. Consequently, even Belize, in Central America, is distressed devastatingly by migration either directly or indirectly or even both to some extreme. Therefore, it is accountable that the basis for leaving Belize is due to crime, globalization and economic hardships. Undoubtedly, over the last few decades, the country has seen alarming increases in crime, which unquestionably, repels many Belizean citizens in search of a safer place. The incidence of crime, including violent crimes such as armed robbery, shooting, stabbing, murder, and rape, is on the rise in desertion of the petty ones. As a matter of fact, Belize Police Department confirmed that in 2014 they witnessed 24% increment of homicides occurring than in 2013. Not to mention that major crimes – murder, robbery, theft, burglary, and rape – rose by 4% in 2014. At the same time, the escalation in the number of rapes was startling, since there was 17 more rapes in 2014 – an increase of 65%.( Ramos, A. 2015) Additionally, sexual harassment has occurred in…
