Have you ever thought about if you are eating a food that has been genetically modified? I can guarantee you eat a few food that have been genetically modified about every day. You may not know what a GMO organism is well let me explain. A genetically modified organism, or GMO, is an organism that has had its DNA altered or modified in some way through genetic engineering. On average, people eat an estimated 193 pounds of genetically engineered food during a 12-month period. That is 193 pounds that you may not know what you are even all you know is that it 's tasting very good and you are hungry enough to not know if you are eating a food that has been genetically modified or not.
I think that all GMO foods should definitely be labeled in the US. Some people in the US are very biased and wanna know what they are eating at all times if it 's not labeled then how would they know. They also may get very mad because they don 't know what they are eating and in a different perspective way that is like not telling the whole truth about it. It all goes back to the people who are eating the food they are the ones who get the most impact out of it. Therefore I think that they should be the ones to say what they actually want and not just what everyone else wants. In conclusion, I think GMO foods should be labeled just because if they are labeled everyone will be happy safe and healthy. It will make the world a better place not just because people know if they are eating a food that has been Genetically Modified but also they won 't have to worry about any of the bad side threats that may come from GMOs. GMOs will be around for a much longer time now that they have been introduced.
