Do you think that a four day school week would be beneficial to students and teachers? A four day school week would mean longer days, but a shorter week. This would give students and teachers an extra day added to their weekend. Research proves that a four day school week would be beneficial to students and teachers. A four day school week is beneficial for the schools financial gain. Research from the article, "Focus on the School Calendar: The Four Day School Week" states "As savings were realized, they were able to redirect the money to support efforts," which gives students an extra opportunity to get extra help for them to be able to raise their grades. (Gaines). These efforts help out students who are really struggling, and and are also preparing them for the next level of education. According to the article, "Focus on the School Calendar: The Four-Day School Week" states "State Departments of Education staff says that students do no worse than students on a traditional calendar" which proves that students who have a shorter school week do about the same as students with a longer week (Gaines). The over all results of having a four day week or a five day week are not really any different. In the article, "Top 7 Pros And Cons Of 4 Day School Weeks" research says "attendance of students enrolled in schools that have a four day week shows that attendance is improved as a result" which proves that students come to school most days because they are already getting an extra day to relax and do what they want over the weekend ("Top 7"). Most students do not want to miss school because of the make up work they would have to do from a longer school day. Some students enjoy learning and a longer school day would be beneficial to them overall. A four day week and a five day week both have the same results
