Four Day School Week Analysis

The first academic journal I studied found that with the transition to a four-day school week, students scored in proficient or advanced level on math and reading achievement tests. This enhances the idea that switching to four-day week does not hinder a students performance and may in fact boost it. Both of the journals I read brought up many positives and a few negatives to implementing the four day week. Some of the positives they found were cost savings in utilities, transportation and food costs in addition to an increase in student and teacher attendance. Another positive is the greater possibility it would provide for a high school student to have a part-time job, as they would have a three day weekend to work. However, the authors
