Cain, along with his brother Abel, were the children of Adam and Eve-the first humans. After leaving the Garden of Eden, they most likely lived around Egypt or Mesopotamia. Cain was a farmer whilst Abel herded animals. The two had just given their offerings, and in return, God gave his unrestrained opinion. To Abel, he gave acclamation; to Cain, he unleashed tirade and disappointment. Cain then brought his brother out to the country and murdered him. He did this because he felt less valued than Abel. “If you do well, you hold your head up; if not, sin is a demon crouching at your door; its desire is for you, but you must master it”. (38). Many humans become jealous or frustrated after comparing their circumstances with one of another’s.
