A love so Chivalrous A person loves at all costs even if it means to give their own life in order for their loved one to live. True love is unselfish and risks everything. They struggle as they see that their loved one crying for help. If their loved one was on the other side of the world, they would travel for miles even if it means walking for days. They have their own storms but would rather save us from our storms of trouble. In “A Worm Path” by Eudora Welty, Phoenix Jackson is a person who is tenacious, bold and a devoted loving grandma. Wind blowing strong and white little snowflakes from the vault of heaven, touching Phoenix’s nose. She strolls into the forest with endurance. Welty describes Phoenix as a tenacious woman as, “She walks slowly in the dark pine shadows, moving a little from side to side in her steps, with the balanced heaviness and lightness of a pendulum in a grandfather clock.” The love Phoenix has for her grandson is tenacious because she walks into the forest knowing the perils of the forest. She resists the harsh cold that hits her graceful face. The wind blowing and the forest can both represent what she has gone through all her life. A tenacious person is built by being strong in a cruel world, in the mist of their problems coming like arrows in every direction.
