In Star Wars: A New Hope, Luke Skywalker, son of a Jedi, shows bravery by risking himself to save Princess Leia. Luke and other characters showed selflessness and loyalty by risking himself getting killed to go destroy the Death Star. The character's bravery, loyalty, and selflessness determine the fate of their people because if it was not for Luke and the other characters risking themselves the people would still be in danger.
The setting and plot make Star Wars: A New Hope an epic because of the major events that happen at the Death star, such as Luke risking life to destroy it. In the film heroism was shown through the characters with bravery, courage, selflessness, and many more other things. Luke put his life on the line to make sure other people were safe even though it meant he could be killed. In the film when Luke’s aunt and uncle were killed in their home he decided to become strong with the force and carry on with the things that Obi Wan Kenobi taught him about the force to blow up the Death Star. Star Wars: A New Hope impacts society because it shows people to be brave and to sacrifice things even if it means risking yourself to help someone else that it will be worth it in the end.
