Harriet Tubman, Miep Gies And Ida B. Wells

Why do heroes act differently than most people? Most heroes are threatened to lose their life for what they think is right. Harriet Tubman lead people north to escape slavery, she had risked a lot and took her mission seriously. Miep Gies help Jews find refuge and risked getting sent to a concentration camp. Ida B. Wells wrote many articles inspiring many people to leave Memphis, she continued to write although she wasn’t able to go back to her home. Although Harriet Tubman, Miep Gies and Ida B. Wells have many different experiences, when the time came, they all acted very heroically. Starting off with Harriet Tubman who risked her life as well as her freedom. Tubman acted Heroically because she believe she had to free her people from slavery as her mission.Tubman was serious about her mission she even made 19 separate trips into slave territory throughout the 1850s (USHistory, 2016). Ida acted heroically when there was an incident with Thomas who Ida was close with. Ida remember that Thomas believed that we should defend the cause of right and fight wrong whenever we saw it (Shannon Moreau, 1999). With what happened to Thomas, Ida began writing articles that made many people decided due to the way they were being treated. Ida fought injustice the best way she know how with her pen (Shannon Moreau, 1999). This way Ida could make a change without actually confronting the problem but inspiring her people telling them to boycott. When two officials came to ask Ida to tell her followers to start to use the streetcars again yet Ida wrote that they should keep boycott (Shannon Moreau, 1999).
