Our roles in society are dictated by what we want to do with our lives. Our role is dictated by what influence we want to have and what we want to get back out. Frankenstein wants to be the one who discovers eternal life and he wants the fame and fortune that comes with it. What he doesn’t expect are the consequences of achieving his dreams. The monster is another character who doesn’t realize the consequences of trying to impact society.
An individual’s place in society is based on their connection’s their society. As I grew up, my ideals were shifted and shaped by my parents especially. I grew up going to church, because that’s what my parents did and that’s how I was raised. I grew up thinking that republican candidates for the presidential elections were inherently better, because that’s who my parents were voting for and who they liked. I grew up thinking that everybody had two parents who loved them and were always there because that’s all I knew from my experiences with life. Without connections to society, as humans we become outcasts. The monster in Frankenstein realizes this quite early on in his life. When the monster spends his
