As a person, I like to know why people are the way they are, why they feel the way they do. I often wonder where my own feelings come from. Emotions give meaning and help you interpret decisions, choices, and can also bring fallacies. They can be harmful yet pleasant, allure and defer a person, give you guidance to follow instincts within and to not. Emotions are a huge part of communication because we use them to express ourselves.
Everyday you experience hundreds of feelings, the general state of conciseness considered independently of particular sensations, thoughts, and more (Dictionary.com May 2016). Feelings only last a few seconds or minutes. Someone can compliment you and that triggers you to feel flattered, someone may have stepped on the back of your shoe and that could have triggered anger. As you can see, feelings are a part of everyday life and are easily triggered by an event. You can’t escape them. By what you 're feeling, you are put into moods. Moods are low-intensity states, they usually last longer than feelings or emotions, but are “ the slow-flowing emotional currents in our everyday lives.” ( 115, McCornack). Now emotions are just like feelings but to a higher extent. They last, they take a toll on you, explain how you behave, your personality, your masks, and everything that makes up you. Scholars have found there to be six primary emotions, surprise, joy, disgust, anger, fear, and sadness. I find this very interesting because of all the feelings that…
