When addressing small children in the stage of development for Emily: egocentric, the nurse must understand that the patient sees the world mostly from her own point of view, with everything revolving around her (Jarvis, 2016). In the case of Emily, the mere fact her brother was examined and given his immunization first, she believes the same will happen to her. Unfortunately, attempting to convince her otherwise, with her frame of thought being only that of her own experience as being relevant, telling her that she will not have immunizations at this point of the appointment will not have much meaning.
