Elder abuse is the most common type of abuse that gets looked over. People normally do not suspect or even think an elderly person may be getting abused, but this is a serious topic in nursing homes and hospitals. Tens of thousands of the elderly are being abused in the United States. More than half a million reports of abuse against the elderly reach authorities every year, and millions more cases go unreported. The reason is as these seniors become older they lose the ability to fight back when they are bullied or attacked. Sometimes they will drug the women as well. Some women were choked, some died, and some ended up severely hurt in the hospital. When the woman was raped her whole behavior changed. She could not really talk about what happened. She had so much fear whenever someone would say something to her about it. Her personal care changed as well. She could bathe herself as good or wouldn't even let anyone touch her. She would stay in a fetal position and never move.

"Don't let him touch me"
That is something that she would constantly repeat. In many cases, when young adults are sexual abuse, they are able to verbalize what happened to them. On the other hand the elderly victims are not able to say anything because they are scared to talk. Some are not able to remember anything that happened to them. In conclusion I just don't understand why people would want to sexual abuse an older woman. They go from woman to woman and get away with it. This needs to stop to older and younger women and little girls. Not many people take action when something like this happen until it happens to someone that they are close to. By then it will be to late because people like that are still around causing things like this to happen. In the news today a football player is being accused of rape. Even pregnant women are as well. This is my way of trying to get people to take action and help stop this thing that is going on.
