We played a role as an educator and advocator while we were lobbying. With the prepared handouts and the meaningful discussion, they seemed more likely to engage with the issues more seriously. I believe that preparing and gathering related information is one of the most important things for a lobbyist. Because of our well prepared and organized information about elder abuse, we were able to affectively and confidently advocate for our elders. Significantly, the resource is the one of main concepts of lobbying that planning and learning is very important step for becoming an effective lobbyist. Elder abuse is not a new social issue but the numbers of elder abuse victims are increasing. Surprisingly, there are still inadequate efforts to implementing the law on the elderly issues. Since older population is dramatically growing, there are inadequate justice systems or laws to protect them from maltreatment such as abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation. The bill S.178 must be passed in order to prevent and stop the elder abuse for making better futures for individuals, families, communities, and
