We often see these lines in the newspaper headings. Many people believe that it’s not their concern as their family members are good and won’t come across any such problem. On health: it can hurt body different body parts which result in some serious health problems like heart disease, HIV/AIDS, lung disease, cancer and high blood pressure. The abuse of painkiller drug can result in breathing problems. Drug abusers are more likely to have accidents while driving, at work, at home, at parties because of impaired judgement as they are high.
On families: When a family member takes drugs it effects the whole family. It is like a disease and it hurts everyone close to him/her. You can’t rely on them in time of need, never trust them with what they are saying and promising. They may do bad things which they would never do in normal circumstances. They may steal,lie and mostly may cause unnecessary fights because of the problems caused by drug usage, which in return effect every body living around them. Effect on teens: Drug abuse at any age is harmful to health but teens who abuse drugs can suffer from some risky negative consequences like struggling with addiction later in life, brain damaging like irreversible damage to nerve system, shrinkage of brain, memory problem, and impaired reasoning. Use of drugs can tend to magnify their emotional and behaviour problems which can lead to some serious problems like depression, suicidal thoughts, schizophrenia and they are much more engaged in delinquent behaviors such as fighting and stealing.(Palmera.C.2009,p.3)
Psychological effects: They can suffer from severe and dark mood swing that can cause depression, anxiety, paranoia and violence which can result in bad decisions and in most case’s it results in the suicide attempt. Drug abuse can also result in complete mental illness, confusion and hallucination, decrease in pleasure in everyday life and desire to increase drug usage to experience more euphoria.
